"With the Presocratics, nothing is definitively over...
Can we bypass the questions of the Presocratics?
Of course we can, provided that we have decided not to have anything to do with modern science, art and intellectual life in general. But if we have decided to cultivate science and art and participate in intellectual life, then the Presocratics will always keep us company and fertilize our thinking, just as they fertilized the thinking of great scientists: Erwin Schrodinger, Martin Heidegger, Dimitris Nanopoulos, of Manos Danezis, Stratos Theodosiou, Giorgos Grammatikakis; great artists: SamuelBeckett, EugeneIonesco, HaroldPinter; and countless other Greeks and foreigners, who excel in all areas of life.
The works of the Presocratics are admired and will be admired forever, because although they were created in the 6th and 5th centuries BC, they are made to stand the test of time.
Despite the passage of thousands of years since they were composed, with the freshness they exude, they are so new and modern and so "recent and new" that they amaze us. As if they were composed today! And their creators give us with an archaic sneer their ideas, which sharpen the mind and calm our soul".
