OLYMPIA A JOURNEY IN FOUR DIMENSIONS

All of us at the Foundation of the Hellenic World are continuously seeking new ways to illuminate and promote Hellenic history and culture, matching our interest in the preservation and dissemination of the past with the potential of the new technologies. The mounting of the Olympic Games of 2004 in Athens, taking place once again in their birthplace, has sharpened our wish to give an added dimension to the collaborative effort with something really innovative in the way of bringing our cultural heritage alive. It is with pleasure I introduce this book, the child of that wish. This is the first time that the site of ancient Olympia as it was during its heyday has been presented in a book, entirely through digital pictures.
