PROUVE

For a long period of time the lifework of artistic blacksmith, designer, and manufacturer Jean Prouve seemed either misunderstood or forgotten. However, in recent years his work attracted again the interest of both the architectural world and a broader public. Compared with other works regarded today as architectural icons of the Modern, Prouve's creations are harder to understand and categorize in their proper context. This has much to do with the fact that he left behind a complex and diverse oeuvre of objects meant for everyday use, ranging from furniture designs, facades to complete houses.
